Job summary

BAE Systems seeks a Senior Mechanical Designer & Drafter for the Countermeasure & Electromagnetic Attack Solutions (CEMA) team in Austin, TX. You will drive advanced mechanical design and drafting for electro-mechanical hardware, with 15+ years of experience and at least 3 years in a senior role.

You’ll lead tasks, delegate to Designers and Drafters, and work within Model Based Definition and Windchill PDMLinks, with on-site to hybrid work as you ramp up. DoD clearance eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Familiar with comprehensive design process from concept to production.
• Able to communicate across functional boundaries to solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Design components and systems using CAD to develop or improve production.
• Support mechanical and electro-mechanical hardware design from concept through detail design.
• Conduct design trade studies and tolerance analyses.
• Manage product definition data and ECOs.
• Collaborate with technicians on prototype assembly and testing.
• Maintain engineering records and files.
