Job summary

CalTek Staffing is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer for an on-site role in Arcadia, California. You will develop mechanical concepts, create detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings, and support production from concept to completion.

The ideal candidate has at least four years of mechanical design experience, proficiency in SolidWorks or AutoCAD, and the ability to perform basic stress calculations and GD&T. PE license not required.

Qualifications

• Four+ years of mechanical design experience with fabrication documentation.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks or AutoCAD).
• Experience designing custom machinery or fabricated assemblies.
• Ability to perform basic stress and material calculations.
• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic components.
• Understanding of GD&T and drafting standards.
• Strong communication with customers and teams.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop concepts, components, assemblies, and systems for custom machinery and entertainment applications.
• Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and bills of materials.
• Perform basic stress and material calculations to support sizing and design.
• Design and integrate pneumatic and hydraulic components into assemblies.
• Coordinate with outside engineers and fabrication teams for analysis and approvals.
• Collaborate with project managers, customers, and teams to translate requirements into designs.
• Select materials and manufacturing methods balancing performance and cost.
• Prepare technical docs and manufacturing instructions.
• Support estimating by identifying design requirements and materials.
• Work with fabrication teams to resolve design questions and update drawings.
