Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate Diploma in CAD or Associate Degree in Engineering is required.
• Minimum 5 years’ industry experience in a design/consultancy environment, preferably supporting mining, minerals processing, or heavy industries.
• Experience with projects from conceptual design through to detailed engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 3D modelling programs, such as AutoCAD Plant 3D, Advanced Steel, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Vault and Plant3D.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Previous MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete detailed design from sketches or specification outlines across mechanical, process, electrical, structural, hydraulics or civil engineering fields under direction of engineers or a supervising design drafter.
• Create 3D designs from complex, multidiscipline engineering concepts
• Participate in design reviews and advise on technical drafting difficulties or compliance requirements
• Comply with the Change Management process for engineering design
• Prepare drawings for plants, equipment, services, facilities or structures
• Participate in developing and continuously improving the Quality management process and system
• Ensure designs follow workflows, systems and procedures
• Provide drafting support to project teams
• Meet schedule, quality and client satisfaction expectations
• Check drafting deliverables for accuracy, completeness and adherence to design specifications and intent
• Apply diligence to uphold quality and client requirements and complete tasks efficiently
