Job summary

Lycopodium Limited is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to join our Drafting and Design team in San Isidro, Illinois. You will produce high-quality 3D designs and general arrangement drawings, working under the guidance of senior engineers. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to diverse global projects.

The ideal candidate should possess a diploma in Engineering Design Drafting and have at least 10 years of relevant industry experience, along with proficiency in 3D MicroStation software.

Qualifications

• 10 years of directly related industry experience in engineering design drafting.
• Experience in producing high quality, cost-effective 3D designs.

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality design drawings consistent with industry standards.
• Supervise up to three subordinate personnel.
• Check design drawings as required.

Skills

Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Designer to join our growing Drafting and Design team in San Isidro.

Reporting to the Principal Designer, the Senior Mechanical Designer will produce high quality, cost effective, detail 3D designs and general arrangement drawings.The designer will, in general, work under the supervision of the Principal Designer, Project Lead Designer, Lead Discipline Design Engineer or the Project Lead Engineer.

The tasks you'll perform

• 3D MicroStation software (and preferably Aecosim or Triforma) and to use those skills within the Lycopodium defined CAD procedures
• Supervision of up to three subordinate personnel.
• Layout and detailing of materials handling and mine plant design in their nominated discipline.
• Produce design drawings that are consistent industry standard techniques and that comply to Lycopodium drawing office and CAD procedures.
• Demonstrate a sound understanding of fabrication and construction techniques.
• Demonstrate a commitment to continued professional development.
• Check design drawings as required.

The expertise you'll bring

• Proficiency in 3D Microstation software.
• An approved diploma qualification in Engineering Design Drafting of their discipline or directly related industry experience of 10 years.
