Job summary

DoorDash Labs seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Closures to own the architecture, design, and execution of closure systems for the next‑gen autonomous delivery vehicle. You will work at the intersection of mechanical engineering, vehicle integration, and product reliability to ensure safe, durable access systems through millions of cycles.

Qualifications

• 6+ years designing automotive body, closure or mechanism systems.
• Experience with vehicles (autonomous or commercial) is a strong plus.
• Expertise in closure mechanisms including hinges, latches, actuators, linkages.
• Design for high-volume manufacturing using stamping, castings, injection molding, extrusions, welding.
• Extensive CAD experience with NX, SolidWorks, CATIA.

Responsibilities

• Own closure system architecture from concept to production.
• Collaborate with design, vehicle architecture, manufacturing and reliability teams.
• Deliver robust access systems meeting durability, cost and manufacturability targets.
• Validate concepts through prototypes, testing, and data-driven decisions.
