Job summary

Intuitive in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer who will own complex mechanical and electromechanical subsystems for robotic platforms, guiding design from concept through transfer in a regulated environment.

You will design mechanisms, integrate motors and sensors, perform kinematics and stress analyses, develop specs and verification plans, create CAD using SolidWorks, and partner with suppliers and manufacturing to execute design transfer.

Qualifications

• Experience designing mechanical and electromechanical subsystems for complex robotic platforms.
• Proficient in CAD tools, especially SolidWorks, and in developing design or verification documentation.
• Ability to perform mechanical analyses (kinematics, stresses, fatigue, tolerances) to support design decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and release subsystems from concept through design transfer in a regulated environment.
• Lead design reviews, mentor junior engineers, and resolve cross-functional design issues.
• Collaborate with Systems, Electrical, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality, and Regulatory teams to ensure robust solutions.
