Lab37 Robotics is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to own and develop hardware modules for robotic applications in our Pittsburgh office. You will create CAD models, drawings, and assembly instructions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical designs with electronics and software.

Hands-on prototyping and testing are essential. We value practical fabrication skills, a strong portfolio in SolidWorks, and a passion for actuation and robotics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
• 3+ years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD with a strong portfolio of past projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems for robotic applications ensuring functionality, cost-effectiveness and manufacturability.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and assembly instructions.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers, software developers and product managers to integrate mechanical designs with electronics and software components.
• Conduct hands-on prototype building and testing, analyzing performance data to iterate on designs.
• Utilize various manufacturing processes and materials to optimize performance and efficiency.
• Participate in design reviews and present concepts and prototypes to stakeholders.
• Manage documentation related to project plans, design specs and testing procedures
