Job summary

ManpowerGroup is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development of high-bandwidth switching hardware for hyperscale AI data centers. You will design chassis, card assemblies, and mechanical interfaces that integrate dense electronics into advanced networking systems used for AI training and inference infrastructure, based in San Jose, CA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of mechanical design experience with electronic or electromechanical hardware.
• Experience owning designs from concept to production and prototyping.
• Proficient in 3D CAD for components, assemblies, and interfaces.
• Experience designing sheet-metal parts for electronic hardware.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components, chassis, card assemblies, and interfaces for hardware.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models and mechanical assembly designs.
• Develop sheet-metal parts and assemblies with fabrication and assembly in mind.
• Produce production drawings using GD&T and perform tolerance analyses.
• Own designs from concept through prototyping, validation, and production.
• Collaborate with PCB, electrical, thermal, and manufacturing teams to resolve interface challenges.
• Coordinate with suppliers to address fabrication and assembly constraints.
• Document engineering decisions and ensure compliance with requirements.
• Support development of manufacturable hardware for high-performance networking systems.
