Job summary

Dunaway is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer for industrial machine design, focusing on extrusion-related equipment and 3D modeling in SolidWorks. You will lead design and integration of new machinery into manufacturing processes and collaborate with field services to troubleshoot on-site equipment.

The role requires 10+ years in industrial machinery design, proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, and experience with hydraulics, FEAs, and PLC systems. Travel 10–15% is possible.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in industrial machinery and equipment design.
• Ability to schedule jobs through the shop to keep machinists and assemblers busy.
• Experience generating 2D drawings for manufacturing in Solidworks and AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of hydraulics for new designs and troubleshooting existing systems.
• Working knowledge of FEA analysis using industry standard software.
• Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems and components.

Responsibilities

• Design extrusion presses and related equipment using 3D modeling software.
• Reverse engineer existing equipment for repair or enhancements.
• Coordinate with field services to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Plan, move, and install industrial equipment including extrusion presses and handling systems.
• Assist with job quotations and estimates.
• Travel 10%-15% as workload permits.
