Sanmina Corporation's Viking Enterprise Solutions unit in Colorado Springs seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to drive the mechanical development of next-generation data storage and server systems with high-density drive arrays and fast interfaces. You will use sheet metal/plastic design, perform modeling, and ensure manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Advanced, expert-level proficiency with 3D CAD systems (SolidWorks preferred).
• Solid understanding of modern manufacturing technologies, tooling, and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design state-of-the-art mechanical architectures and components (enclosures, sub-assemblies, drive mountings, carriers) using sheet metal and plastics.
• Lead system modeling and simulation focusing on tolerance stack-ups, usability, reusability and DFM.
• Research and implement emerging thermal management technologies (e.g., liquid cooling).
• Prototype and validate transport racks and crating to ensure product integrity in the supply chain.
• Collaborate with fabrication partners and suppliers to meet cost, quality and delivery targets.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing during NPI and production phases and mentor junior engineers.
