Job summary

SMS group is seeking a seasoned Mechanical Engineer III to define and execute design standards, driving innovation to improve equipment performance, reliability and manufacturability. You will develop models, drawings, and analyses to support critical projects in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 5+ years of mechanical design experience, strong communication, and proficiency with Creo Parametric, Ansys Workbench, and related tools.

Qualifications

• BSME/BSMET degree from an accredited university.
• 5+ years of mechanical design engineering experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of ASTM/ASME/AWS/DIN standards.
• Proficient in Creo Parametric; knowledge of FEA.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering in models, drawings, feasibility studies, and technical reports.
• Create 3D models and 2D drawings using Creo Parametric.
• Perform Finite Element Analysis with Ansys Workbench or Creo Simulate.
• Lead small engineering teams and manage project execution within budget.
• Adhere to budgets, deadlines and standards (ASTM, ASME, AWS, DIN).
• Coordinate with project managers, supply chain, customers, and suppliers.
• Support maintenance of project schedules and milestones.
• Ensure tasks are executed with quality and cost efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
