Director of People Operations & Recruiting at Associated Environmental Systems

Drive Innovation. Model with Precision. Build the Future.

We’re looking for a highly skilled and detail-driven Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team of innovators. In this role, you’ll lead the mechanical design of cutting-edge environmental test chambers — built for some of the most advanced clients in the world.

Your main toolkit will be SolidWorks 2021, where you’ll be expected to model quickly, cleanly, and accurately. You’ll collaborate closely with our refrigeration and electrical teams to develop complete, manufacturable designs that integrate thermal and electrical systems seamlessly.

If you’re someone who thrives on precision, moves fast in CAD, and understands the interplay between mechanical design, heat transfer, and electrical theory — this is your seat at the table.

Who We Are

We’re Associated Environmental Systems (AES) — an innovative manufacturing company working at the intersection of technology, engineering, and sustainability. Our environmental test chambers serve clients in aerospace, battery development, electronics, and automotive, including Tesla, Rivian, Meta, Google, Lucid, and Harley-Davidson.

Our culture is fast-paced, collaborative, and casual (yes, dogs are welcome). We use the latest tools, believe in autonomy with support, and invest in people who are excited to build what’s next.

What You’ll Do
  • Design and model mechanical systems, structures, and sheet metal assemblies in SolidWorks 2021 with an emphasis on speed, accuracy, and parametric control
  • Integrate refrigeration and electrical components into assemblies, ensuring logical layout and serviceability
  • Develop and maintain clean drawings using ASME standards and internal best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to generate accurate, lean BOMs
  • Create and execute Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) with attention to version control and documentation
  • Conduct DFMEA’s and tolerance stack ups.
  • Conduct FEA and thermal analysis to validate designs
  • Peer review CAD models and drawings for clarity, design integrity, and manufacturability
What You Bring:

Must-Have Skills

  • Expert-level SolidWorks skills — particularly in Sheet Metal and PDM, with at least 7 years of experience
  • Proven ability to model fast and clean while maintaining structure and naming discipline
  • Strong attention to detail — your models and drawings should be as clear as your communication
  • Experience designing for manufacturing and assembly
  • Familiarity with heat transfer concepts and how mechanical design impacts thermal performance
  • Working knowledge of electrical components and layout principles
  • Working knowledge of refrigeration components and layout principles
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • A creative, solutions-first mindset

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Hands-on experience with environmental systems, refrigeration cycles, or thermal management products
Why AES?
  • Influence: You’ll work directly with leadership and help shape the future of our product line
  • Tools: SolidWorks 2021, Lantek Expert, and strong internal standards
  • People: Smart, passionate team. Low-ego. High talent.
  • Flexibility: Dog-friendly, casual, collaborative
  • Perks: Competitive salary, great benefits, tuition reimbursement, and interesting projects for major tech brands
