Job summary

Upchurch is seeking a Project Manager to lead mechanical construction projects across the southeastern United States. You will direct scheduling, budgeting, procurement, field coordination, and client relations to deliver on-time, on-budget, high-quality outcomes.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in mechanical or commercial construction, strong leadership and communication, and proficiency with reading drawings. Travel 80–100% is required; a CM/ME degree and OSHA 30 are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management experience in mechanical or commercial construction.
• Ability to travel 80-100% of the time.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specs.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred; design-build or negotiated contracts helpful.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple mechanical projects concurrently.
• Develop budgets, schedules, and execution plans.
• Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and subs.
• Monitor financials, forecast costs, and ensure profitability.
• Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and progress reports.
• Serve as primary contact for general contractors and owners.
• Coordinate with field supervisors to align work with plans.
• Attend jobsite meetings and conduct walkthroughs.
• Enforce safety standards and compliance with codes.
• Mentor Assistant PMs and Project Engineers.
• Ensure timely close-out and turnover docs.
