Job description

Overview

M&J Engineering, P.C. is seeking Senior Mechanical Construction Inspectors for our NYC projects with the Department of Environmental Protection (NYCDEP).

M&J Engineering, P.C. (M&J) is a leader in construction management and inspection, civil, ITS, mechanical, electrical, wastewater, water supply, tunnel, airport, port, marine/coastal, and environmental engineering, and design-build services for both new infrastructure projects and renovations. Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Resident Engineer, the Inspector will perform technical work in the inspection of construction, repair & maintenance of wastewater plants and appurtenances. The Inspector for the project is responsible for examining the contractor's work to ensure the work is being performed in accordance with the contract and shop drawings. The inspector shall prepare daily inspection reports that summarize contractor staffing, work activities, and production levels sufficient to allow for payment. The inspector must review and maintain T&M records as needed. On some projects, prepare field assessment/data analysis on equipment condition assessments project.

Qualifications
  • At least 10+ years of experience in Water Supply or Wastewater Sector.
  • Knowledge in industry Standards and Specifications for different agencies (NYCDEP, NYCDDC, NYCDOT etc).
  • Associate degree Required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • OSHA 30 Hours certification is required.

Salary Range: $114,000 to $156,000 per year
