Job summary

Beyond New Horizons LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Construction Engineer at Arnold AFB, TN. You will be part of an integrated team maintaining and sustaining Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.

The role requires U.S. citizenship, ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance, and 8+ years in engineering/construction, with salary ranges listed for L08–L09 levels at Arnold AFB.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management or similar.
• L08: Minimum of 8 years' experience in engineering or construction or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• L09: Minimum of 5 years' experience in engineering or construction or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret level security clearance and access to the AEDC local area network.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for employment at AEDC (Air Force Security requirements).

Responsibilities

• Execute the construction engineering specialist program, including exchange of engineering information among client, design engineer, and company project.
• Perform technical administration of contracts.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable codes and standards for a project.
• Provide technical interpretation of design documents for construction managers and contractors; support problem solving.
• Prepare material take-offs and initiate requisitions for procurement to support the project schedule.
• Coordinate construction activities and prepare punch lists for turnover or startup.
• Liaise with design engineer to coordinate release of construction documents.
• Provide marked-up drawings and information for as-built drawings.
• Interpret design documents to ensure completeness and constructability.
• Coordinate RFIs and provide responses.
• Coordinate engineering input and analysis on progress, compliance, and close-out reports.
• Provide technical and construction engineering expertise to support the project.
• Provide technical evaluation of bid proposals.
• Participate in pre-construction planning and constructability reviews.
• Assess solutions to problems with varying complexity; set priorities and meet deadlines.
