Mechanical Commissioning Senior Specialist – Liquid Cooling Systems

Location: Remote | Must be near a major U.S. airport

Travel: Up to 75%

DataX Connect are partnered with a leading owners rep/engineering firm seeking a Mechanical Commissioning Senior Specialist with deep technical expertise in liquid cooling systems, process piping, and water treatment. If you've worked in mission-critical sectors like data centers, semiconductor plants, or pharmaceutical facilities and thrive on-site where systems come alive, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead on-site commissioning of mechanical and control systems in high-performance environments.
  • Validate and test complex cooling systems, oversee factory witness testing, and troubleshoot operational issues.
  • Drive projects from planning and scheduling through to successful system activation.
  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, vendors, and clients to ensure seamless execution.
  • Deliver top-quality commissioning documentation, from test scripts to final reports.
  • Act as the go-to client representative, building strong, lasting partnerships.

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with mechanical systems: commissioning, process piping, cooling, or water treatment.
  • Expertise in commissioning complex mechanical systems in mission-critical environments.
  • Strong understanding of controls, HVAC, and water treatment technologies.
  • Tech-savvy—comfortable with digital tools, testing equipment, and using AI to enhance workflows.
  • Able to lead independently on site while collaborating remotely with a diverse, high-performing team.

Travel and Work Style

  • Travel up to 75%
  • Based near a major airport for quick deployment to client locations.
  • Work from home when not on-site—bring your drive and independence to a highly flexible work environment.

Education and Credentials

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, or a related discipline OR two years of hands-on technical experience, PLUS 8+ years in the field.
  • NFPA70E or OSHA certifications are a plus.
