Job summary

FST Technical Services seeks a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to lead commissioning on data-center projects, guiding design through execution with emphasis on reliability and precision.

Responsibilities include evaluating HVAC, pumps, boilers, and automation; reviewing design docs; leading client meetings; and mentoring junior engineers. Travel to project sites is required; relocation may be considered for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in HVACR, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field
• 7+ years experience or 3+ years commissioning
• Data center experience required

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning activities across the full lifecycle
• Execute functional testing, witness testing, and system validation
• Manage assignments within schedule, budget, and quality expectations
• Evaluate HVAC, controls, automation, fire safety systems
• Troubleshoot system performance issues
• Review design documentation
• Lead meetings and communicate findings
• Build relationships with clients and contractors
• Complete reports and manage time and expenses
• Mentor junior engineers and support training
