Job summary

STRUCTR Advisors is seeking an experienced Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to join as Senior Mechanical Commissioning Manager. This leadership role focuses on growing the commissioning practice, delivering expert MEP analysis, and building strong client relationships across HVAC, electrical, BAS, and building systems.

You will lead project delivery, mentor staff, and drive initiatives to expand services. Travel may be required to support projects and business development efforts.

Qualifications

  • PE license is required for mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field is required.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in commissioning, MEP engineering, building systems, or related fields.
  • Proven ability to develop business with clients and expand service offerings.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead proposals, client presentations, interviews, and contract negotiations.
  • Oversee commissioning projects from design review to closeout.
  • Advise owners, architects, contractors, and facility operators on technical matters.
  • Drive business development through client meetings and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Provide expertise on HVAC, electrical, BAS, and building systems performance.
  • Support project teams with troubleshooting and commissioning coordination.
  • Maintain and enhance commissioning standards, processes, and quality.
  • Mentor and develop a growing team of commissioning and engineering professionals.
  • Support construction teams to achieve commissioning objectives with practical MEP guidance.
  • Represent STRUCTR Advisors as a technical and industry expert in the marketplace.

Description

STRUCTR Advisors is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to join our team as Senior Mechanical Commissioning Manager. This leadership role is responsible for growing our commissioning practice, providing technical expertise in MEP systems, developing client relationships, and supporting strategic business growth. The successful candidate will lead project delivery efforts across commissioning, energy analysis, and building systems consulting services while mentoring staff and driving technical excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead proposal development, client presentations, project interviews, and contract negotiations.
  • Oversee commissioning projects from design review through project closeout.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to owners, architects, contractors, and facility operators.
  • Identify and drive business development efforts, including proposals, client meetings, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Provide technical expertise related to HVAC, electrical, BAS, and building systems performance.
  • Support project teams with troubleshooting, analysis, and commissioning coordination.
  • Maintain and enhance commissioning standards, processes, and quality expectations.
  • Mentor and develop a growing team of commissioning and engineering professionals.
  • Support construction teams in achieving commissioning objectives while providing practical MEP guidance and problem-solving expertise.
  • Serve as a recognized technical and industry expert representing STRUCTR Advisors in the marketplace.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (required).
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in commissioning, MEP engineering, building systems, facility operations, engineering consulting, or construction.
  • Proven success leading complex projects, managing client relationships, and delivering high-quality technical services.
  • Demonstrated business development experience with a track record of growing client accounts and expanding service offerings.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience leading and mentoring technical professionals.
  • Ability to travel periodically to support projects, client meetings, and business development activities.
  • Ability to work from the office and collaborate closely with internal teams.

  • Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP)
  • Building Commissioning Professional (BCxP)
  • Existing Building Commissioning Professional (EBCP)
  • LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP)
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
