Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Senior Level Commissioning Engineer to lead the mechanical systems commissioning program for leased/owned data centers. This role acts as the SME and liaison among senior engineers, managers, and external vendors, shaping testing methodologies and standards for quality across AWS sites.

The successful candidate will oversee pre-construction and construction management, review designs and test procedures, and drive standardization while mentoring commissioning

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in commissioning programs for large-scale data center infrastructure.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and external vendors.
• Strong focus on QC, startup, FPT, IST processes.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for mechanical systems and commissioning for AWS data centers.
• Lead pre-construction and construction management teams; drive process improvements.
• Review design specs, testing requirements, and procedures for adherence to commissioning specs.
• Lead workshops to align on issues and drive data center design and commissioning improvements.
• Develop and deliver technical training for commissioning teams; ensure knowledge transfer.
• Conduct quality assurance audits of commissioning processes and field execution.
• Lead COE investigations, RCA, and preventive actions to improve reliability.
• Participate in technical interviews for commissioning staff and contractors.
