Job summary

Globalchannelmanagement is seeking a Senior Mechanical Automation Engineer with a BS in Engineering and 7+ years of experience to lead automation initiatives in high-volume manufacturing. The role emphasizes ergonomic design, yield improvements, and cost reductions through electromechanical systems integration and automated assembly processes.

Responsibilities include PLC programming, HMI development, 6-axis robotics, SolidWorks CAD, and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

Experience in high-volume production and ergonomic design.
Experience with electromechanical systems and automating assembly processes.
PLC programming (Ladder Logic and Structured Text) and HMI development.
6-Axis robotics programming/integration experience.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to coordinate multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of sensors, robotics, complex mechanical designs and controls.
SolidWorks CAD modeling ability; documentation is expected.
Experience with YuMi, Denso or Fanuc robotics and vision systems.

Responsibilities

Lead design for medium-large automation projects supporting new products/tech introductions.
Develop and implement automation configurations; support engineering runs.
Collaborate with manufacturing, process, maintenance and quality teams.
Diagnose/troubleshoot equipment issues and mentor junior staff.
Create automation requirements including 3D drawings, wiring, programming and sourcing.
Detail control schemes with wiring and system drawings for projects.
Design PLC/HMI/robotics and produce user requirements, specs, and design docs.
Identify design deficiencies and recommend revisions for improvements.
