Job summary

Gramian Consultancy is seeking a Senior Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering Expert to lead a pod of 5–10 technical trainers, developing realistic, terminal-based engineering tasks for AI training and evaluation. You will oversee task quality and reproducibility, ensuring automated graders assess outcomes.

The role combines deep engineering expertise with quality assurance and leadership, requiring strong Python/C/C++, Linux skills, and experience in FEA/CFD and propulsion modeling.

Qualifications

• PhD, postdoctoral experience, or equivalent advanced expertise in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C/C++, Fortran, Julia, or MATLAB/Octave.
• Proficiency in Linux and command-line environments.
• Hands-on expertise in FEA, CFD, dynamics, flight simulation, propulsion modeling.
• Experience mentoring or leading small technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of 5–10 technical trainers, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
• Review engineering tasks end to end, including problem statements, geometry and mesh files, and solver inputs.
• Validate tasks involving FEA, CFD, thermodynamics, heat transfer, dynamics, robotics, flight simulation, propulsion, and orbital mechanics.
• Verify engineering correctness across units, boundary conditions, mesh convergence, and numerical stability.
• Provide actionable technical feedback and ensure issues are resolved before approval.
• Onboard trainers, allocate work, monitor quality, and maintain documentation.
• Review automated graders to ensure meaningful engineering outputs are assessed.
