Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Four years’ journeyman welding and fitting experience.
• Journey Iron Worker Card or equivalent required.
• Valid Maryland driver’s license class C and related welding certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lays out, fabricates, and repairs metal components for machinery and equipment.
• Plans and lays out welding operations using drawings, specs, and metallurgy knowledge.
• Cuts, fits, welds, and inspects metal parts with precision instruments.
• Maintains tools, equipment, and inventories; travels to worksites as needed.
• Ensures safety standards and compliance with codes during welding tasks.
