Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• 4 years of experience in automotive or truck repair.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Must supply own set of mechanic’s hand tools.
• Knowledge of mechanical principles, methods, and tool use.
• Ability to read automotive/mechanical repair manuals.

Responsabilités

• Performs skilled mechanical maintenance, inspections, and repairs to automotive equipment and power tools.
• Diagnoses and troubleshoots maintenance needs; inspects and installs equipment.
• Performs state mandated inspections and researches parts for repairs.
• Assists in emergency towing and retrieves city vehicles for repair.
• Completes work orders, records time and parts; drives a wrecker when needed.
• Communicates with staff and vendors to coordinate repairs.
• Trains other mechanics and ensures safe, accurate work.
