Job summary

DT Midstream Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanic for Petersburg, IN to perform maintenance on natural gas compression equipment using standard and specialized tools, including mobile units. The role may require travel and on-call rotation, with supervision as needed.

You will lead maintenance tasks, coordinate with the operations team, ensure safety and compliance, and respond to emergencies outside normal hours. A strong mechanical background and six years of experience are essential.

Qualifications

  • At least six years of maintenance experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in the mechanical field from minor repairs to major rebuilds on related equipment.
  • Available to respond to emergency situations outside normal hours.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Job Summary

Performs all maintenance functions necessary to maintainandserviceNatural Gas Compression Equipment using standard and specialized tools and equipment including mobile equipment as required. Operates equipment in conjunction with repairs and provides assistance in operating functions as necessary to maintain continuity of operations. May work alone, with minimal supervision or with other technicians and coordinates and works in conjunction with operating team members in the performance of maintenance tasks. Add On-Call rotation is required and travel may be required.

  • Responsible for participating in safety activities to meet or exceed organizational goals and expectations
  • Maintains interpersonal relationships with individuals both external and internal to the organization
  • Be an active participant of developing and maintaining a culture of professionalism

  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

  • At least six years of maintenance experience
  • A high school diploma or GED
  • Must have experience in the mechanical field relating to minor repairs all the way to total major rebuilds on systems and related equipment.
  • Must be available to respond to emergency situations outside of normal business hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as business needs require
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license

Other Requirements:

  • Strong safety experience.
  • Ability to start and stop all equipment.
  • Able to lead team through major maintenance activities.
  • Ability to schedule PM and ensure necessary parts and supplies are available.
  • Use experience to recommend compressor configurations for operational optimization.
  • Complete CAT Engine Training.
  • Complete Ariel Mechanic training.
  • Gas Compressor experience.
  • Centrifugal and reciprocating pump experience
  • Recommend improvements for operational efficiency.
  • Interact and provide support to Engineering and Project management on designs.
  • Assist and implement Continuous Improvement and recommend changes for operational efficiencies.
  • Leads projects and upgrades.
  • Ability to work in a team orientated atmosphere.
  • Demonstrated capability to achieve results through people, technology and processing equipment.
  • Good knowledge of the assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Ability to function within a matrix organization where employees report to both a functional leader and a business leader.
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with both a functional and business leader.
  • Must be goal oriented.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, coworkers, and management.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions, including wet and/or humid conditions, and extreme heat and cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes and frequently exposed to airborne particles and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to mechanical and electrical hazards. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
