Job summary

Danos, LLC seeks a Compressor Mechanic to operate, troubleshoot and repair natural gas engines, pumps and compressors at our Carlsbad, NM site. The role includes engine control systems, analytics software, preventative maintenance, and reporting spills and leaks to assure safe, reliable operations.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in oil & gas mechanics, familiarity with CAT ET, VRU systems, and ADEM 3 control tech, and be able to work in a team while also self-directing when required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Oil & Gas mechanical experience with pumps, compressors and engines.
• HS Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Able to meet background, drug test, MVR, agility and fit for duty requirements.
• Able to lift 40 lbs., climb ladders and work with PPE as needed.
• Strong teamwork and safety awareness in field environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate, troubleshoot and repair natural gas engines, pumps and compressors.
• Work with engine control systems and CAT ET software for diagnostics.
• Perform preventive/predictive maintenance and reactive repairs on equipment.
• Identify and repair leaks, report spills and maintain safety standards.
• Collaborate with contractors and coworkers to ensure safe operations.

Job description

Overview

The position of Compressor Mechanic is responsible for the operation, troubleshooting and repairs of natural gas engines, compressors, and pumps. This includes engine control systems, computer programs with production and injection equipment. In addition, this role performs preventative/predictive maintenance, reactive maintenance, major and minor repairs on equipment, and reporting spills and leaks.

Responsibilities

• Working knowledge of engines,pumpsand compressors.
• Working Knowledge & Experience in the following: H-Pumps, Centrifugal Pumps, Rod Pumps, etc.
• Working knowledge of ADEM 3 engine control systems.
• Working knowledge of small horsepower and experience in VRU's.
• Ability to tune and adjust with Caterpillar ET computer program.
• Experience working withhigh speedreciprocating Ariel and GE-Gemini compressors.
• Troubleshoot pump & compressor valves,identifyand repair compressor packing leaks.
• Experience in troubleshooting and repairing centrifugal and positive displacement (SWD) pumps.
• Responsible attitude for personal safety and the safety of co-workers,contractorsand the public.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Oil & Gas mechanical experience with the following:Working knowledge of Pumps, Centrifugal Pumps, H-Pumps, etc.andWorking knowledge ofair compressors, gas compressors, natural gas engines and generators.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as by self without directsupervision.

• Must be able to meet all conditional job offer requirements including background, drug test, MVR, agility and fit for duty.
• Physical Requirements - Must be able to lift 40 lbs., climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
• Understanding of importance of environmental and safe work practices.
