Job summary

Albertsons Companies in Roanoke, TX is seeking a senior Procurement professional to lead the buying desk and partner with distribution, stores and vendors to optimize inventory and costs. You will drive policies, target setting, and profitability while mentoring buyers in a fast-paced retail environment.

The role requires 5+ years in buying, a supply chain mindset, and strong analytical and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years buying experience in retail preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Supply Chain experience preferred.
• Strong procurement, logistics and inventory management knowledge.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities; proactive thinker.
• Strong organizational, planning and communication skills.
• Ability to negotiate with outside vendors and partners.
• Proficient PC skills; spreadsheets, macros and supply chain systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and ensure adherence to procurement policies for the buying desk.
• Achieve inventory and turnover goals on assigned desk.
• Assist Replen Manager with targets for sales and margins.
• Help establish projected sales and profit quotas.
• Collaborate with distribution center and other departments for effective execution.
• Review costs and marketing plans to optimize price and value.
• Conduct post-promotional analysis and implement improvements.
• Coordinate with warehouse and transportation to ensure product flow.
