Job description

Position Summary...

As a Senior Meat Cutter, you will drive sales in your area to deliver to our members more of what they love, for less. You will work collaboratively with other associates to ensure the total club meets the member’s expectations.

What you'll do...

  1. Be a Team Member: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, educate other associates on tools, tasks, and resources, communicate effectively, develop interpersonal skills for customer service, be flexible to business needs, track goods, maintain in-stock levels, and control shrinkage.
  2. Be an Expert: Maintain in-depth knowledge of different meat products, equipment usage, and backroom operations. Provide meat products to members by processing meat according to specifications (cutting, slicing, grinding, wrapping), ensure compliance with food safety standards, sanitation, and inventory management, and operate equipment safely and hygienically.
  3. Be a Techie: Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement. Use handheld technology for immediate business decisions related to production, training, and product quality, and encourage others to adopt new tools.
  4. Be an Owner: Drive business results by ensuring operational excellence, planning for profitability, maintaining a clean and organized work area, ensuring product quality and standards, eliminating waste, securing fragile and high-shrink merchandise, assisting members with purchasing decisions, and ensuring proper packaging, labeling, and storage.
  5. Be a Talent Ambassador: Advocate for the department and club by valuing the member experience, modeling high-quality service, executing duties at the highest standards, interacting with associates to address roadblocks, and assisting in training.
  6. Compliance and Collaboration: Follow company policies, procedures, and ethics; implement action plans; collaborate with managers, coworkers, and partners; prioritize tasks; communicate progress; identify improvements; adapt to change; and learn from feedback.
  7. Respect the Individual: Embrace diversity, create an inclusive workplace, foster belonging, support talent development, and build trusting relationships through positive communication and recognition.
  8. Act with Integrity: Uphold high standards of ethics and compliance, model company values, hold self and others accountable, support Walmart's sustainability goals, and act humbly, honestly, and transparently.
  9. Serve our Customers and Members: Deliver results with a customer-first mindset, make informed decisions, balance priorities, and consider the impact on stakeholders.
  10. Strive for Excellence: Demonstrate curiosity, willingness to learn, take calculated risks, support innovation, and support others through change and continuous improvement.

At Sam's Club, we offer competitive pay, performance bonuses, and benefits including health coverage, 401(k), stock purchase, life insurance, paid time off, and more. We also provide the Live Better U education program, fully paid for by Walmart, for associates seeking further education.
