Position Summary: As a Senior Meat Cutter, you will drive sales in your area to deliver to our members more of what they love, for less. You will work collaboratively with other associates to ensure the total club meets the member’s expectations.
What you'll do...
- Be a Team Member: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, educate other associates on tools, tasks, and resources, communicate effectively, and develop interpersonal skills for providing customer service. Be flexible to the needs of the business, track goods, maintain in-stock levels, and control shrinkage.
- Be an Expert: Maintain in-depth knowledge of various types and seasonality of meat products, equipment usage, and backroom operations. Provide meat products to members by processing meat according to specifications—cutting, slicing, grinding, and wrapping. Ensure compliance with food safety standards, sanitation, and inventory management. Operate, maintain, and sanitize equipment.
- Be a Techie: Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement. Use handheld technology for immediate business decisions related to production, training, and product quality, adapting to new tools and encouraging others to do the same.
- Be an Owner: Drive business results, ensure operational excellence, plan for profitability, and maintain a work area according to company policies. Ensure high-quality standards for meat products, eliminate waste, secure fragile and high-shrink merchandise, assist members with purchasing decisions, and ensure proper packaging, labeling, and storage.
- Be a Talent Ambassador: Advocate for the department and club by valuing the member experience, modeling high-quality service, and executing tasks at the highest level. Interact with associates to understand roadblocks and assist in training them on job duties.
- Compliance and Collaboration: Follow company policies, procedures, and ethics. Use the Open Door Policy, collaborate with managers, coworkers, customers, and partners, identify priorities, communicate progress, and seek improvement opportunities. Adapt to change and feedback.
- Respect the Individual: Embrace differences, create a supportive workplace, foster belonging, and help attract top talent.
- Work as a Team: Build trust, communicate positively, motivate, influence, develop, mentor, and recognize contributions.
- Act with Integrity: Uphold high standards of ethics and compliance, model Walmart values, hold oneself and others accountable, and support Walmart's goal of positive impact.
- Serve Customers and Members: Deliver results with the customer first mindset, make informed decisions, and consider the impact on the team and stakeholders.
- Strive for Excellence: Demonstrate curiosity, resilience, take calculated risks, support continuous improvement, and embrace new technologies and skills.
