Position Summary

As a Senior Meat Cutter you will drive sales in your area to deliver to our members more of what they love, for less. You will work collaboratively with other associates to ensure the total club meets the member’s expectations.

What You’ll Do
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and help educate other associates on tools, tasks, and resources; communicate effectively and develop interpersonal skills for providing customer service; be flexible to the needs of the business; track goods, maintain in‑stock levels, and control shrinkage.
  • Maintain an in‑depth knowledge of the various types and seasonality of different meat products, equipment usage, and back‑room operations; process meat according to specifications (e.g., cutting, slicing, grinding, and wrapping) ensuring compliance with food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, and inventory management; operate, maintain, and sanitize equipment.
  • Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement; use handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, training, and product quality with the member in mind; adapt to new tools and encourage others to use them.
  • Drive business results; plan for profitability; maintain a work area according to company policies and procedures; ensure quality and standards for high‑volume meat products; eliminate waste; secure fragile and high‑shrink merchandise; assist members with purchasing decisions and ensure merchandise is properly packaged, labeled, and stored.
  • Advocate for the department and the club by valuing the member’s experience in the meat area; model high‑quality service and products; execute the basics at the highest possible level of quality; interact with associates to understand roadblocks and assist in training them to perform job‑related duties as assigned.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity; implement related action plans and apply them in business processes and practices.
  • Complete work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborate with managers, coworkers, customers, and other business partners; identify priorities, deadlines, and expectations; communicate progress and information; determine and recommend ways to address improvement opportunities; adapt to and learn from change, difficulties, and feedback.

Live Better U is a company‑paid education benefit program for full‑time and part‑time associates at Walmart and Sam’s Club. The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 to $27.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional compensation may be paid in premiums ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances, based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 6 months of experience working in a fresh production department.
  • Must be 18 years old or older.
  • Must successfully complete all required trainings and assessments within the prescribed time period if hired.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a meat processing area.
