Job summary

JARBO in Olathe, KS is seeking a Senior Project Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) to lead large-scale food waste-to-energy facility projects from development through startup. Based in Olathe, you will work with project stakeholders, engineering consultants, contractors, and leadership teams to drive engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, or process facility projects.
• Experience leading projects through engineering, construction, and startup phases.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and contractors.
• Working knowledge of project schedules, budgets, and project controls.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to travel to Burley, Idaho as project needs require.

Responsibilities

• Lead project execution activities from development through commissioning and startup.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning efforts.
• Manage engineering consultants, contractors, equipment suppliers, and project stakeholders.
• Review mechanical and electrical system designs for quality, constructability, reliability, and performance.
• Support project budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, and risk management.
• Monitor project progress and drive key milestones to successful completion.
• Evaluate equipment selections, technical specifications, and design changes.
• Provide technical oversight during construction activities and field execution.
• Identify and resolve project challenges related to engineering, construction, and operations.
• Support startup planning and operational readiness activities.
• Ensure project objectives related to safety, quality, schedule, and cost are achieved.
