Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced enterprise-scale software engineer to advance IBM InfoSphere MDM and Kafka-based integrations in a Linux/Unix environment. You will design SDLC-wide specifications, implement data models, and troubleshoot complex MDM workflows while collaborating with DBAs and infrastructure teams.

The role emphasizes Java/J2EE, SQL proficiency, and hands-on Kubernetes/OpenShift exposure, with CI/CD via Azure DevOps.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of enterprise-scale software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with IBM InfoSphere MDM v14.x Standard Edition (Virtual MDM).
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka.
• Preferred: 8+ years of Java/J2EE experience, including Java, JSP, REST/SOAP services, and strong production troubleshooting.
• Preferred: 5+ years of Linux/Unix administration and Bash shell scripting.
• Preferred: Kafka and WildFly integration experience, including Zookeeper/KRaft concepts and Strimzi operator.
• Preferred: SQL proficiency with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Preferred: CI/CD experience with Azure DevOps and Azure Git.
• Preferred: Cloud, OCP/OpenShift/Kubernetes exposure and AWS/Azure familiarity.
• Preferred: ELK/Elastic Stack log monitoring across Kafka, WildFly, and MDM.
• Preferred: Flowable development experience.

Responsibilities

• Write high-level functional requirement documents and technical specifications across the full SDLC.
• Support and enhance IBM InfoSphere MDM (Virtual MDM), including data models, entities, transactions, batch processing, configuration, customization, and troubleshooting.
• Develop and maintain Kafka-based integrations, including topic creation, producer/consumer development, and message-flow troubleshooting.
• Work in Linux/Unix environments and write PowerShell and Bash scripts, including CRON job scheduling.
• Write and optimize SQL against Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Manage code in Git/GitHub and support CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or similar tools.
• Support WildFly application server deployments, health checks, and batch-processing integration with Kafka and MDM.
• Create and manage certificates on Windows and Linux.
• Partner with DBAs, Infrastructure teams, and client stakeholders on ticket resolution.
• Design and execute test plans, support UAT, track defects, and perform post-implementation testing.
• Monitor production and non-production environments, support RFC-driven changes, and maintain system documentation.
• Deliver monthly reporting on MDM applications.
