Job summary

Battelle is seeking a Materials Scientist/Engineer III to support the Metallic Material Properties Development and Standardization (MMPDS) Program in Columbus, Ohio. The successful candidate will work with a diverse project team analyzing metal mechanical properties data according to guidelines and support business development efforts.

This role requires 10+ years of industry experience and offers a salary range of $81,000 to $116,000 per year, as well as a comprehensive benefits package. You will also mentor junior staff and support accurate material standards in various technical meetings.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in a safety-focused industry such as aerospace, nuclear, or power generation.
• Experience with metal mechanical characterization testing.
• Subject Matter Expert level in at least two relevant fields.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret metal mechanical properties data per MMPDS guidelines.
• Support client projects generating mechanical properties.
• Mentor and train lower-level staff.
