Job summary

United Launch Alliance, LLC. is seeking a Laboratory Scientist for on-site work at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The role focuses on testing, analysis, and reporting of mission-critical specimens with strong emphasis on analytical chemistry and safety.

Requirements include a BS in Chemistry, 6+ years hands-on lab experience, and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance. Proficiency with GC, FT-IR, ICP, and related instruments is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry or similar field.
• Minimum 6+ years of day-to-day hands-on experience in chemistry lab setting.
• Experience with quantitative chemical analysis using GC, FT-IR, ICP, and related equipment.
• Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to document results clearly.

Responsibilities

• Support launch-related testing and evaluate results for mission-critical test specimens.
• Coordinate specimens, test plans and sampling with site laboratories; review and interpret results.
• Write laboratory test reports and communicate results to internal customers.
• Perform quantitative chemical analysis including hydrocarbon fuels and propellants; conduct wet bench chemistry and microscopy.
• Calibrate and troubleshoot analytical chemistry equipment; ensure proper housekeeping and safety.
