Job summary

Anduril Industries in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Senior Materials and Process Engineer to establish M&P infrastructure for our RMS rocket motor portfolio, defining standards from prototype to production. You’ll standardize material and process specifications, acceptance testing, and design allowables across multiple programs.

You will lead materials characterization programs, drive qualification activities, and mentor engineers while collaborating with design, manufacturing, and program teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field.
• 5+ years of materials and process engineering experience in aerospace/defense.
• Proven experience developing material and process specifications for production.
• Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
• Experience leading root-cause investigations and troubleshooting manufacturing processes.
• Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Material Specifications for RMS systems (propellants, cases, ablatives, insulators, coatings, nozzle materials).
• Create Process Specifications for manufacturing operations (propellant processing, composite fabrication, bonding, heat treatment).
• Develop Standard Acceptance Test Procedures and NDI technique sheets for materials and hardware.
• Standardize work instructions into configuration-controlled specifications.
• Lead material characterization programs and develop design allowables per CMH-17/JANNAF.
