Job summary

Anduril Industries seeks an experienced Materials and Process Engineer to establish M&P infrastructure for RMS, enabling scale from prototype to high-rate production. You will standardize material and process specifications, acceptance tests, and design allowables across multiple programs, turning tribal knowledge into robust, configuration-controlled documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
• 5+ years of materials and process engineering experience in aerospace, propulsion, or defense applications.
• Proven experience developing material specifications and process specifications for production programs.
• Experience with material characterization, testing, and documentation.
• Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Material Specifications for raw materials, components, and assemblies containing polymeric constituents across RMS systems.
• Create Process Specifications for manufacturing operations including propellant processing and insulation/liner bonding.
• Develop Standard Acceptance Test Procedures and NDI technique sheets for incoming materials and finished hardware.
• Review and standardize written work into formal specifications with defined process windows and acceptance criteria.
• Lead materials characterization programs including mechanical testing, thermal analysis, and ablation performance evaluation.
• Mentor junior engineers and prepare technical documentation including specifications and test reports.
