Job summary

Fort Dodge, Iowa-based Nestl Purina is seeking a Senior Materials Planning Coordinator to optimize material flow for pet food production. You will analyze requirements, manage inventory accuracy, and coordinate with Production, QA, and vendors to ensure timely material availability.

You will use SAP TM for inbound transportation, review schedules, and help maintain records of raw materials, locations, and defects, while supporting scheduling coverage as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ years' experience in procurement, materials planning, or relevant manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, military, or related environment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze material requirements and translate to orders.
  • Manage inventory accuracy at plant and outside storage; research variances and coordinate with accounting for adjustments.
  • Collaborate with Production and QA to determine material requirements and resolve handling issues.
  • Oversee fresh ingredient processes to meet production and QA needs.
  • Manage invoice discrepancies on raw material orders and review GR/IR reports.
  • Support scheduling responsibilities as needed.

Position Summary

Fort Dodge, located just 90 minutes north of Des Moines, Iowa, is recognized as a regional hub for retail and recreation. As a Senior Materials Planning Coordinator, you’ll analyze material required to manufacture pet food products and convert requirements to orders. Manage inventory levels and ingredient rejections while reviewing production schedules in collaboration with Production and QA to determine material requirements and solve possible ingredient handling issues. Make an impact on our processes as you compile and maintain manual and/or computerized records of raw material inventories, status, and location transfers.

  • Utilize SAP TM to manage transportation of inbound orders and communicate with carriers regarding invoicing or other needs.
  • Use knowledge of product and manufacturing processes to review production schedules and collaborate with department supervisors to determine material requirements and track material.
  • Manage inventory accuracy at plant and outside storage, research any variances, and work with accounting to perform adjustments if necessary.
  • Oversee fresh ingredient process to ensure production needs and QA requirements are met.
  • Manage invoice discrepancies on raw material orders, reviewing GR/IR monthly reports.
  • Work collaboratively with QA, Production, and vendors to manage hold and/or rejected ingredients and solve any handling/quality issues with materials.
  • Help cover scheduling responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years' experience in procurement, materials planning, or relevant manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, military, or related environment.

Salary: $47,619.90 to$70,014.00 per year

The pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at top of range.
