Job summary

Avo Photonics is seeking a Senior Materials Manager to lead receiving, warehousing and inventory control across two manufacturing sites. You will drive standardization, accuracy, and flow of inbound materials, working with cross-functional teams to optimize cycle counting and inventory levels while upholding safety and quality standards.

Your leadership will develop staff and sustain ISO-compliant processes in a dynamic contract engineering environment.

Qualifications

• BS in supply chain, business, or related discipline.
• 10+ years progressive materials management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing multi-site operations; ISO-certified environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead receiving, warehouse, and inventory control teams across two manufacturing sites.
• Standardize processes and controls across sites to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Ensure accurate, timely receipt and processing of inbound materials.
• Optimize warehouse procedures to maximize safety, protect materials, and improve efficiency.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless material flow including RMAs and NCMRs.
• Drive real-time inventory visibility and high accuracy levels through cycle counting and controls.
• Maintain balanced inventory levels between two manufacturing sites.
• Train and develop managers and staff across both facilities.
• Foster accountability, safety ownership, and procedural discipline.
• Maintain compliance with safety and internal quality standards and audit requirements.

Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Senior Materials Manager to join our team. In this role you will lead receiving, warehouse, and inventory control operations across two manufacturing sites, ensuring consistent processes, accurate inventory, and efficient material flow between facilities. The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of progressive materials management experience in a manufacturing environment, strong multi-site leadership skills, and expertise with ERP/MRP systems.

Duties:

• Lead receiving, warehouse, and inventory control teams across two manufacturing sites
• Standardize processes and controls across sites to ensure consistency and compliance
• Ensure accurate, timely receipt and processing of inbound materials
• Optimize warehouse procedures to maximize safety, protect materials, and improve efficiency
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless material flow including reverse logistics for NCMRs and RMAs
• Drive real-time inventory visibility and high accuracy levels across both facilities through ongoing cycle counting and process controls
• Maintain balanced inventory levels between two manufacturing sites
• Manage physical inventory counts at the end of each half-year and external audit at the end of each year
• Train, coach, and develop managers and staff across both facilities
• Drive a culture of accountability, safety ownership, and procedural discipline
• Maintain compliance with safety, internal quality standards and audit requirements

Requirements:

• BS in supply chain, business, or related discipline
• 10+ years of progressive materials management experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience managing multi-site operations preferred
• Demonstrated leadership experience overseeing receiving and inventory control teams
• Experience in ISO-certified manufacturing environments preferred
