Senior Materials Management Manager

As a Senior Materials Management Manager here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the success of the materials management process and team. Your primary objectives will include optimizing supply chain efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to support our production schedules.

In this role, you will impact the company's bottom line by reducing operational expenses and ensuring a constant flow of materials for production. Your strategic oversight ensures a streamlined and efficient supply chain, minimizing costs and maximizing resource utilization. Your proactive approach to materials management contributes significantly to meeting production deadlines, enhancing overall business resilience and customer satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and oversee comprehensive materials management strategies aligned with the company's overall objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand production schedules, forecast demand, and establish effective procurement plans.
  • Guide procurement activities, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management. Identify new suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and build strong relationships to secure a reliable and cost-effective supply of materials.
  • Oversee inventory levels, minimizing excess or obsolete stock while ensuring an uninterrupted flow of materials to meet production requirements. Implement inventory control measures, including cycle counts and regular audits, to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manage the logistics and distribution processes, coordinating with transportation providers to optimize delivery schedules. Ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of materials to and from the production facility.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration with internal departments such as production, quality control, and finance. Work closely with stakeholders to understand their materials needs and address any issues or challenges that may arise.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the materials management function. Implement best practices, leverage technology, and stay informed about industry trends to enhance overall efficiency.
YOU MUST HAVE
  • 6+ years of experience in materials management, procurement, and logistics, with a track record of success in optimizing supply chain processes.
  • 6+ years of experience managing, motivating, and guiding a team.
  • 3-5 years using materials management software and ERP systems, enabling effective inventory control and procurement management.
  • 3-5 years of expertise in vendor selection, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management to ensure cost-effective and reliable material supply.

The annual base salary range for this position is $149,000-$224,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
