Job summary
Patagonia in Ventura, CA is seeking a Senior Material Developer for insulation and outerwear, to lead development and commercialization of new materials. This role focuses on innovative insulation solutions, materials selection, and close collaboration with design and product teams to deliver high-performance outerwear.
You will work across design, product development, line management, quality, production, and innovation to ensure materials meet performance, sustainability, and supply chain
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in textile engineering, materials science, or related field.
- 5–10 years of materials development in apparel/outdoor industry.
- Deep knowledge of insulation systems and supply chains.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Lead development and commercialization of insulation and outerwear materials.
- Collaborate with Design, Product Development, Quality, Production, and Innovation teams to meet performance goals.
- Evaluate material performance using testing data to guide decisions.
- Maintain traceability of material supply chains and documentation.
