Job summary

Engineering Systems, Inc. (ESi) seeks a senior metallurgical and materials engineering expert to lead complex forensic investigations and multidisciplinary projects. You will oversee lab work, site inspections, and root-cause analyses, while authoring technical reports and providing expert opinions.

The role includes giving deposition/trial testimony, developing client presentations, and mentoring staff. A PE license and extensive litigation experience are highly valued, with opportunities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, and/or Materials Science or related field required; Master's or Ph.D. strongly preferred.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) required.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, directs, and coordinates complex forensic investigations and multidisciplinary projects as a senior metallurgical and materials engineering expert.
  • Directs and oversees metallurgical laboratory work, site inspections, and failure analysis investigations.
  • Performs and supervises advanced forensic root cause failure analysis in industrial, insurance, and litigation projects.
  • Authors and reviews high-quality technical reports; provides expert opinions on metallurgical and materials engineering matters.
  • Provides expert testimony at deposition and trial.
  • Conducts well-developed and well-prepared client presentations.
  • Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project, and arranges for assignment of project personnel.
  • Directs and coordinates projects and teams within prescribed schedule and budget scopes.
  • Works with Business Development to identify potential clients and strategies to build client base.
  • Actively participates in Business Development activities, including client meetings, presentations, and appropriate conferences.
  • Mentors consultants and senior consultants in technical and professional development.
  • Actively seeks to develop professionally in skills, experience, and industry reputation.
