Job summary

Ridge Corporation in Ohio is seeking a Senior Materials Buyer to lead procurement across multiple facilities, ensuring material availability and optimized inventory. You will negotiate terms, monitor demand, and build strong supplier partnerships while collaborating with leadership, engineering, quality, and operations.

This high-visibility role reports to senior leadership and includes 401(k) with match, medical/dental/vision after 30 days, tuition reimbursement, and a focus on cost-saving

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, or Materials Science (or equivalent hands-on manufacturing procurement experience).
• 5+ years of progressive purchasing, procurement, or materials management experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data modeling, VLOOKUPs, and pivot tables.
• Proven experience in contract negotiation, vendor management, and ethical sourcing.
• Strong problem-solving skills under tight operational deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and carry out purchasing strategies for raw materials and key components across multiple facilities
• Negotiate pricing and terms, and issue purchase orders aligned with production schedules
• Monitor demand signals and manage stock levels to minimize holding costs and obsolescence
• Act quickly to recover from material shortages
• Evaluate, track, and improve supplier performance on cost, lead times, quality, and on-time delivery
• Partner daily with engineering, quality, finance, and production on new product introductions (NPI), engineering change orders (ECOs), and process improvements
• Maintain data integrity in our ERP system
• Deliver regular reporting on cost-savings initiatives, commodity market trends, and key supply chain metrics
• Spend meaningful time on the production floor with plant operations to keep inventory accurate and resolve supply constraints early
• Take on other duties as assigned

Position Summary:

Ridge Corporation is hiring a strategic, hands-on Senior Materials Buyer to lead procurement and keep production running across our growing Ohio manufacturing facilities. If you enjoy connecting supply chain strategy with shop-floor execution, this role is for you.

This is a high-visibility position. You'll partner directly with leadership, engineering, quality, and plant operations to keep raw materials available, optimize inventory, and build strong vendor partnerships. Your medical, dental, and vision benefits start after just 30 days.
