Job description

SRC, Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Material Planner (Remote) who will be responsible for planning, scheduling and coordinate program material. In this role, you will support the corporate manufacturing and development operations. This position will be remote and focus on supporting internal customers in the acquisition and tracking of raw materials. Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, motivated, work well with a team, and be able to manage supplier relationships. This role reports directly to the Supervisor for Material Planning.

What You'll Do

Core Responsibilities :

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate material procurement plans for deliveries of raw material, component piece parts, and subcontract items for assigned programs in support of program material plans and delivery schedules
  • Prepare, maintain, and present program status information to program management and other appropriate personnel
  • Monitor and update program inventory status to prevent material shortages
  • Initiate purchase requisitions, change orders or material transfers in response to changes in net material requirements
  • Assist in development, coordination and monitoring of build plans and workflow activities to ensure schedules are completed within delivery parameters
  • Interface with various departments to resolve or minimize build schedule interruptions
  • Attention to detail and the ability to utilizing tools like material trackers, program, management dashboard , KPIs
  • Working knowledge of inventory management, bills of material, MRP / ERP systems

Additional Responsibilities

  • Recommend and implement improvement opportunities with the planning process
  • Participate on continuous improvement teams
  • Present material status deficiencies and "get to green" plans to management
  • Ability to effectively communicate the elements of the planning process to management
  • Investigate and analyze material schedule deviations and cost impacts to the program (must work closely with engineering team to achieve this) to meet program build and delivery schedule
  • Able to train personnel in processes and procedures for material planning
  • Must be able to organize and manage multiple, changing priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrated analytical ability

  • Must have meeting facilitation skills - initiate material meetings, take actions , prepare material part summaries for program teams, publish minutes actions and summaries

What You'll Bring

  • Associate's degree in supply chain management, business, or manufacturing and 6+ years of planning experience. Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training
  • CPIM certificate preferred
  • Understanding of using MS office products is a must with strong MS excel
  • Foundational understanding of basic material planning KPIs
  • Basic knowledge of Supply Chain activities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to provide guidance and advice during teleconferences and meetings
  • Able to successfully communicate in person and on the phone with both technical and acquisition specialists
  • Ability to present and facilitate meetings
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data sets, determine trends, and recommend plans of action

Total compensation for this role is market competitive. The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $62,800 to $86,350 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location as well as other business and organizational needs.
