Job summary

Precision Castparts in Tukwila, WA is seeking a Raw Material Handler to work independently in inventory control. You will issue materials to work orders, research transactions, and review planning details using the ERP system.

Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints, operating cranes and forklifts, monitoring usage, collaborating with Engineering and Production, maintaining ERP records, supporting audits, and mentoring peers.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in a machine shop, warehouse, or logistics setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Demonstrated experience with material planning and shop floor support systems.
• Strong computer skills, including advanced Excel functions and ERP/MRP systems.
• Ability to interpret material specifications and substitutions.
• Effective communication and leadership skills.
• Highly organized with a strong sense of inventory accuracy and workflow efficiency.
• Capable of independent decision-making and troubleshooting in material handling processes.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints and material callouts for complex job requirements.
• Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, and band saws with safety and precision.
• Monitor material usage and suggest substitutions or reallocations based on real-time conditions.
• Liaise between Engineering, Planning, and Production for material problem solving.
• Maintain accurate records of material movements and stock levels using the ERP system.
• Support inventory audits, resolve discrepancies, and assist in cycle counts.
• Mentor and provide on-the-job training to peers.
• Maintain an organized 6S workspace and follow safety procedures (PPE, lifting, equipment use).
