Job summary

Sumitomo Drive Technologies USA in Chesapeake, VA seeks a warehouse associate to load/unload, store and move materials. You will operate forklifts and pallet jacks, fill requisitions, and ship products to departments and assembly lines, while upholding 5S standards and safety policies.

Experience with forklift operation, warehouse procedures, and material handling is required. Lift up to 50 pounds; work in a loud industrial environment with an emphasis on safety.

Qualifications

Forklift experience required.
General knowledge of warehouse procedures expected.
Three (3) years of material handling experience required.

Responsibilities

Receive, unpack, check and store merchandise or materials.
Fill requisitions and orders.
Pack, crate and ship products and materials to departments or assembly lines.
Drive forklift, WAV or pallet jack to move bulk products.
Perform pre-shift equipment checks and operate powered industrial equipment.
May involve lifting up to 50 pounds as part of regular daily tasks.
Maintain clean and organized work areas following 5S principles.
Follow safety and regulatory policies at all times.
Other duties as assigned.
