Jabil, a global engineering and manufacturing solutions leader, seeks a Senior Material Flow Engineer to optimize material movement, storage and presentation across our manufacturing and logistics operations.

You will analyze current processes, design improved flow systems, and implement solutions at multiple sites in the United States. Travel up to 75% is required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree preferred for advanced roles.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing material flow processes, layouts, and equipment to identify bottlenecks and waste.
• Design optimized material flow strategies (line-side delivery, supermarket design, kitting, sequencing).
• Use simulation and lean methods (VSM, 5S, Kaizen) to model and validate improvements.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, and IT to implement new systems.
• Lead material flow assessments and improvement projects across US sites.
• Develop standard work for material handling, kitting, and line-side replenishment.
• Evaluate new material handling equipment and technologies to improve flow.
• Lead continuous improvement on inventory reduction and space utilization.
• Provide training on new material flow processes and tools.
• Track KPIs for flow efficiency, inventory turns, and cost savings.
• Ensure safety and quality standards in all designs and implementations.

How will you make an impact?

The Senior Material Flow Engineer at Jabil, Inc. will be responsible for optimizing material movement, storage, and presentation within our manufacturing and logistics operations to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and support lean manufacturing initiatives. This role involves analyzing current processes, designing improved material flow systems, and implementing solutions across various Jabil sites.

This position requires approximately 75% travel within the United States to support site assessments, project implementation, continuous improvement initiatives, and operational standardization efforts across the network.

What will you do?

• Analyze existing material flow processes, layouts, and material handling equipment to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and waste.
• Design and develop optimized material flow strategies, including line-side delivery, supermarket design, kitting, and sequencing solutions.
• Utilize simulation software and lean methodologies (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen) to model and validate proposed improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, and IT to implement new material flow systems and processes.
• Lead material flow assessments and improvement projects at manufacturing and distribution sites throughout the United States.
• Develop and implement standard work procedures for material handling, kitting, and line-side replenishment.
• Evaluate and recommend new material handling equipment, automation, and technologies to improve material flow and efficiency.
• Lead continuous improvement projects related to material flow, inventory reduction, and space utilization.
• Provide training and support to operational teams on new material flow processes and tools.
• Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to material flow efficiency, inventory turns, and cost savings.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and Jabil's quality standards in all material flow designs and implementations.
• Travel up to 75% within the United States to support project execution, facility launches, operational assessments, and implementation of material flow best practices.

How will you get here?

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in material flow engineering, industrial engineering, or supply chain optimization within a manufacturing environment, preferably in electronics manufacturing or a high-volume production setting.
• Proven experience in applying Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, Pull Systems).
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) for facility layout and material flow design.
• Experience with simulation software for material flow analysis (e.g., FlexSim, Arena) is highly desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and develop practical solutions.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is an advantage.
• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 75% within the United States, including extended site visits as required to support business objectives.

Salary

The pay range for this role is $126,100 - $227,000. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.

As part of the total rewards package, this position is eligible for a short-term incentive based on performance. In addition, Jabil offers benefits to enhance your health, wealth and resilient self.
