Job summary

Jenkins Plumbing and Heating Co is seeking a Master / Lead Plumbing Technician & Journeyman Specialist to perform complex residential and commercial plumbing installations and diagnostics in Pleasantville, NJ. This senior role owns service calls, boiler and water heater installs, and piping retrofits for private accounts and municipal projects.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of experience, strong NJ code knowledge, and a commitment to quality trade work.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of verified hands-on experience in residential or commercial plumbing.
• Deep knowledge of plumbing codes, backflow prevention, venting, drainage design and diagnostics.
• Ability to perform physically demanding trade work (crawl spaces, ladders, up to 75 lbs).
• Valid driver's license with insurable driving record for company vehicles.
• Must possess basic hand tools and personal plumbing tools.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain complex residential and commercial plumbing systems.
• Diagnose pipe leaks, fixture malfunctions, sewer blockages, water heater failures, and pressure imbalances.
• Cut, thread, solder, braze, and press multi-material piping systems (copper, PEX, PVC, CPVC, cast iron, black iron).
• Read blueprints and ensure work complies with NJ plumbing codes and safety standards.
• Explain issues to customers and present repair options; keep work zones clean.
• Maintain company vehicles, tools, and diagnostic equipment in good condition.
• Mentor junior apprentices on safety, piping techniques, and codes.
