Job summary

True Anomaly, near Denver, is building space-based interceptors and hypersonic hardware. We seek a Mechanical Engineer to own mass properties across the vehicle and to design flight hardware that must perform in extreme environments.

You will advance mechanical design, packaging, GD&T, and interoperability with REs, test plans, and configuration baselines, while mentoring juniors. Candidates need 7–15+ years in defense aerospace and the ability to obtain US security clearance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 7–15+ years in mechanical design and mass properties analysis for space-based interceptors or hypersonic flight programs.
  • Experience maintaining mass properties predictions across multiple vehicles and programs.
  • Familiarity with MIL-SPEC, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-1540 and AIAA S-110.
  • Proficiency with NX and GD&T; experience with CAD model management.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as mass properties technical authority for Space Based Interceptors, owning mass properties of the entire system.
  • Own mass properties of flight vehicle structures and work with REs on packaging to optimize CG, MOI, POI.
  • Define mass properties definitions and tracking methodologies per industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain vehicle-level ICDs, mass properties reports, and configuration baselines.
  • Conform to GD&T standards per ASME Y-14.5-2018 and manage CAD models.
  • Develop CG/MOI test plans and witness testing, resolving anomalies.
  • Leverage space environment design to inform cross-domain solutions.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers.
