What You'll Do

We're seeking an experienced Senior Marketing Strategist to develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies and core content for our retail annuities business. This role will focus on developing differentiated messaging for our retail annuities products, while partnering with our in-house creative agency to develop core content to support distribution partners. In addition to messaging and content creation for annuity products, this role will be focused on creating non-product specific value add materials for advisors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic marketing plans for retail annuity products
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and consumer behavior to inform marketing strategies
  • Create compelling value propositions and messaging that resonate with both financial professionals and end consumers
  • Create non-product specific value add materials for independent broker dealers that demonstrate Principal’s expertise in the financial services industry
  • Partner with our product and distribution teams to develop effective, differentiated marketing materials and ideas to drive new sales
  • Lead market research initiatives to identify opportunities for content and messaging enhancements

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 7+ years of marketing experience, with at least 4 years in financial services
  • Deep understanding of retirement products, specifically annuities
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with financial professional distribution channels
  • Knowledge of insurance and securities regulations
  • Proven track record of successful marketing content creation in the financial services industry

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$100,800 - $150,000 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
