Job summary

Citi in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Market Risk Manager to ensure trading desks operate within risk tolerance and to guide risk-related decisions across commodity markets. You will analyze risk exposure, monitor limits, and contribute to stress testing and system enhancements.

The role requires deep knowledge of risk measurement, derivative instruments, and strong communication to influence colleagues and external clients.

Qualifications

• 10+ years relevant experience.
• Degree in a Quantitative or Financial discipline.
• Experience in NAM Power markets (PJM, MISO, NYISO, ERCOT, WECC).
• Familiarity with Emissions and Renewable products (Wind, Solar, batteries).
• Advanced knowledge of financial instruments, risk metrics and Market Risk Management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and SQL.
• Programming/modeling experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify and capture market risk factors in risk systems.
• Ensure compliance with risk-related policies and programs.
• Develop and maintain autonomous risk limits framework.
• Monitor risk exposure and reporting integrity.
• Develop stress testing and review results.
• Develop, implement and upgrade risk systems (VaR, limits, stress).
• Collaborate on bespoke projects with trading businesses and markets.
