Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for Market Data on the Institutional Markets team to build and operate real-time data capture, normalization, and distribution systems with low latency.

You’ll work across feed handlers, venue connectors, and distribution layers to support Coinbase's institutional trading roadmap. You will contribute to high‑throughput, low‑latency services, ensure reliability through observability, and collaborate with engineers, product managers, and

Qualificações

• 3+ years of backend engineering experience building and maintaining production low-latency systems.
• Hands-on experience with at least one area of market data infrastructure (feed handlers, normalization, or distribution).
• Proficiency in low-latency Java (or C++) and familiarity with high-throughput messaging frameworks.
• Familiarity with venue/exchange connectivity and market data protocols (FIX, ITCH/OUCH, multicast).
• Track record shipping features end-to-end and operating what you build in production.
• Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

• Design and implement low-latency, high-throughput services for real-time market data consumed by trading systems across the platform.
• Drive reliability and performance improvements through observability, on-call participation, and incident response.
